Conditions involving the perineum and urogenital tract are common in small animal practice. The practical component of the course will allow you to perform various methods of perineal hernia repair, anal sacculectomy and episioplasty, as well as surgery of the urogenital system including canine scrotal urethrostomy, cystotomy and nephrectomy.

At the end of this workshop delegates should be able to:

  • Improve your knowledge of perineal anatomy and learn how to safely approach the region surgically
  • Learn different methods of reconstructing the pelvic floor
  • Confidently perform surgery of the urogenital system

Wendy Archipow

BVSc, MS, DACVS-SA

Wendy graduated from Massey University in 2004. After completing a small animal surgery residency at Purdue University she became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2011. Wendy was an Assistant Professor of Small Animal Surgery at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine for several years before moving to Australia in 2012. Since then she has been employed in private referral practice in Brisbane.
