Description
Cruciate disease is the number one surgically treated condition in small animal orthopaedic practice. The evolution of surgical techniques has seen an immense change in the veterinary landscape in the last decade. Tibial plateau levelling osteotomy is well recognised as the gold standard procedure for all size dogs.
This two day course is the culmination of half a decade of procedural and educational refinement aimed at providing best practice updates to general practitioners who may want to:
- Refine their decision making
- Enhance their βcruciate radarβ
- Gain exposure to TPLO and whether it is βrightβ for their practice
- Improve their TPLO technique
- Get better outcomes for their patients
The course will include a balance of theory, practical knowledge and cadaveric training to allow practioners to offer the best to their clients.
Speaker Biography
Lucas Beierer
BVSc GradDipEd MVetSurg DACVS-SA
Dr Beierer is a specialist surgeon and director at Queensland Veterinary Specialists. He completed his residency training in Australia (Murdoch University) with externships in the USA. He spent several years in specialist orthopaedic practice in the UK. He is an AOVET Board member (Asia Pacific) and regular contributor to orthopaedic continuing education throughout south east Asia. He has a Masters in Veterinary Biomechanics and has a passion for implant biomechanics and fracture decision making. Dr Beierer has built the busiest total hip replacement practice in the region and thoroughly enjoys the challenge of restoring pain free function in pets.
